About Acme Support Services

Our story, our team, our values

How we got here

Acme Support Services started because our founding team kept seeing the same problem. Participants were being given cookie cutter care plans, rotated through workers they had never met, and left to figure out the NDIS system on their own. It was not good enough. So we built something different.

That was 15 years ago. What started as a small operation in Queensland has grown into a provider covering six regions across South East Queensland. We have supported more than 80 participants and their families, built a team of nurses, support workers, allied health professionals, and property managers, and earned over 90 five star Google reviews along the way.

But the size is not really the point. The point is that every participant still gets treated as a person, not a plan number. Our leadership team is still closely involved in service quality. The values that started Acme still run through it. That has not changed.

Our leadership

Acme Support Services is family run and led by a leadership team with backgrounds in law, management consulting, and NDIS service delivery. Our leadership has deep expertise in community engagement and SIL/SDA operations. They started Acme because they believed participants deserved support that was actually built around them, not around the provider's convenience.

Our leadership team still reviews participant feedback, oversees staff training, and makes decisions based on what is right for the person. That hands on involvement is what keeps our standards high and our participants happy.

Our mission

We want to empower people with disability and create opportunities of their choice in a supported, inclusive environment. That is not a slogan we put on a wall and forgot about. It is the thing we measure ourselves against. Are we actually giving participants more choice? Are we actually helping them reach their goals? If the answer is no, we change what we are doing.

Our vision

A world where everyone is treated equally and with respect. We are under no illusions that one NDIS provider in South East Queensland is going to single handedly make that happen. But within our reach, within the participants we support and the communities we work in, we can push things in the right direction.

What we believe in

Empathy

We try to understand what people are going through before we decide how to help. That means slowing down, listening, and not assuming we already know the answer. Our workers are trained to notice the emotional and psychological stuff, not just the physical care needs.

Respect

Participants have the right to make their own decisions. Full stop. We do not override preferences, we do not assume someone cannot do something, and we do not talk about participants in the third person when they are sitting right there.

Dignity

Personal care is intimate. SIL is someone's home. These are not abstract service categories, they are parts of a person's life. We deliver every service with the understanding that how we do it matters as much as what we do. Privacy, sensitivity, and treating people as adults, always.
