What community access support covers

Community access, sometimes called community participation, is NDIS-funded support that helps you take part in activities outside the home, matched to what you actually want to do, not a generic list.

Community access funding sits under Core Supports, Assistance with Social and Community Participation, and it is genuinely flexible, but that flexibility is confusing if nobody explains it properly. Funding your community access support

Community access is funded through Core Supports under Assistance with Social and Community Participation. If transport is needed, this can sometimes be included in the support worker's time or funded separately, depending on your plan.

What a typical week looks like

Community access does not need to mean a jam-packed schedule. For some participants it is a single weekly outing to a favourite cafe or market. For others it is several activities a week, sport, art classes, volunteering, building toward a genuinely full social life.

We build the schedule around what you actually want more of, not a fixed number of hours to fill. If an activity is not landing, tell your support worker and we will try something else rather than persisting with a program that is not working.
